Getting Started

Charge Transmitter and Headphones

Connect Transmitter

Plug the transmitter into USB power. Use any powered USB port, such as a USB wall adapter. You may also use the USB port on your TV. The transmitter should be left plugged in.

Cinema 3D Headphones

Charging can take up to 3 hours. The charging light will pulse green while the headphones are charging and turn solid green once fully charged.

USB-C Cable: Plug the included USB-C cable into any powered USB-C port and into the Cinema 3D headphones.

Charging Pad: Plug the included charging pad into any powered USB port, such as the USB port on your TV. Place the charging pad against the left earcup of the Cinema 3D headphones to charge.

Note: The headphones automatically power off when the charging pad is attached and will power on when it is removed.

Setup With Connect Transmitter

Step 1: Turn Your TV Off

Turn your TV off to prevent Bluetooth interference.

Note: Avoid pressing the "A" or "B" buttons when powering on the transmitter, as doing so may reset the connection.

Step 2: Power on Transmitter and Headphones

Connect Transmitter: Slide the switch to the "ON" position.

Cinema 3D Headphones (choose one):

  • Remove the Charging Pad, OR
  • Press and hold the Power Button for 3 seconds.

To power off: attach the charging pad OR press and hold the Power Button for 3 seconds.

Step 4: Plug Transmitter into TV

Choose only one audio cable supported by your TV:

Choice A: Optical

  1. Remove protective caps from both ends of the digital optical S/PDIF audio cable.
  2. Plug the digital optical S/PDIF audio cable into the OPTICAL audio input of the Connect.
  3. Plug the other end into the TV's DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) port.
  4. All done! Turn on your TV and check the headphones for sound. Make sure your TV is not muted and the volume on your headphones is turned up.

Choice B: 3.5 mm

  1. Plug the 3.5 mm audio cable into the 3.5 mm audio input of the Connect.
  2. Plug the other end into the TV's headphone jack. The headphone jack may be located on the rear, side, front, or bottom of the TV.
  3. All done! Turn on your TV and check the headphones for sound. Make sure the volume on both your TV and headphones is turned up.

Choice C: RCA

  1. Plug the red/white ends of the RCA audio cable into the TV's red/white RCA AUDIO OUT port.
  2. Plug the 3.5 mm end of the RCA audio cable into the 3.5 mm audio input of the Connect.
  3. All done! Turn on your TV and check the headphones for sound. Make sure the volume on both your TV and headphones is turned up.
⚠ RCA jacks on TV must be designated as AUDIO OUT. RCA input jacks, commonly labeled AV IN, INPUT, or COMP IN / COMPONENT will not work.

Note: You should have ONE power cable and ONE audio cable plugged into your Connect transmitter.

Step 5: Subsequent Use

When finished listening, attach the charging pad to the Cinema 3D headphones or press and hold the Power Button for 3 seconds to power off headphones until next use.

The Connect transmitter can be left powered on and plugged into USB power for future use.

When ready to use again, simply power on the headphones as shown in Step 2 and they will reconnect automatically. A solid blue light on the Connect transmitter will indicate that a connection has been re-established.

Note: If the power cable of your Connect transmitter is plugged into your TV's USB port and it has been a week or longer since you used it, power your TV on first and give the Connect transmitter a few minutes to charge. We also recommend charging the Connect transmitter at least once every 30 days.

Pairing Bluetooth Headphones with the Connect Transmitter

This procedure is used to re-pair the Cinema 3D headphones to the Connect transmitter if they do not reconnect automatically, to pair a different headphone with the Connect transmitter, or to pair a second headphone when one is already connected.

Before pairing, perform the following steps:

Once both the transmitter and headphones are powered on, perform the following steps:

Step 1: Put Your Bluetooth Headphones in Pairing Mode

Cinema 3D Headphones: Press and hold the VOL+ and VOL− Buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds until the status indicator light begins to flash red and blue and the headphone says "Pairing".

Other Bluetooth Headphones: Consult the user manual of your headphones for the correct pairing procedure.

Step 2: Put Connect Transmitter in Pairing Mode

Once your headphones are in pairing mode, press Pairing Button "B" once to put the Connect transmitter in pairing mode, indicated by a blinking blue light. The blinking blue light will change to solid blue once successfully paired. If two headphones are paired, two solid blue lights will be shown.

About the Cinema 3D Headphones

Pairing the Cinema 3D Headphones with a Different Bluetooth Device

The Cinema 3D headphones can be used with any Bluetooth device, such as your phone or tablet. Use the operation below to enter pairing mode:

While Powered Off

Press and hold the Power Button for 7 seconds.

While Powered On

Press and hold the VOL+ and VOL− Buttons for 3 seconds.

Once the Cinema 3D is in pairing mode, use the Bluetooth menu of your TV or other device to search for and select "MEE audio Cinema 3D".

3D Sound (Spatial Audio)

With 3D Sound enabled, sound moves naturally as you turn your head, increasing immersion and making it feel less like you're wearing headphones.

To keep the effect realistic, the Cinema 3D automatically recenters the audio if you keep looking in one direction for a few seconds. You can also recenter manually at any time by facing your TV screen and tapping the touch panel once.

Quick Conversation Mode

Quick Conversation Mode temporarily mutes the audio and enables Transparency Mode, allowing you to have a conversation without pausing your media or removing your headphones.

Quick Conversation Mode: Cover Touch Panel firmly with palm.

WARNING: Avoid touching or hitting the external microphones while in ANC or Transparency mode, as doing so may result in damage to the headphones and/or hearing discomfort.

Bluetooth Multipoint

Bluetooth multipoint can be used to connect two Bluetooth devices to your Cinema 3D headphones simultaneously. For example, your headphones can stay connected to both your TV and your phone so you can enjoy your favorite shows and not worry about missing important phone calls.

When multipoint is enabled, pair both of the devices you wish to use by following the Bluetooth pairing instructions, then restart the Cinema 3D while both are in range to connect in multipoint.

Enable / Disable Bluetooth Multipoint: Press and hold Power AND VOL+ Buttons for 3 seconds.

Other Connection Options

Bluetooth Auracast

Auracast is a new Bluetooth feature that lets you tune in to shared audio broadcasts with your headphones by using your Auracast-compatible mobile device to locate and select the broadcast.

To use Auracast, first connect the Cinema 3D to your Auracast-compatible phone via Bluetooth, then use your phone's Auracast menu to find and join the broadcast.

Wired Audio (USB)

The Cinema 3D can be used in wired mode with any USB audio device such as a phone, laptop, or tablet. This can be useful when your Cinema 3D is out of battery, or if you need higher-quality or zero-latency audio, such as for gaming.

The Cinema 3D will enter USB audio mode automatically when plugged into your device with the included USB-C cable or another USB cable.

By default, the Cinema 3D will also charge when used via USB. Charging can be temporarily disabled to preserve the battery life of your device.

Disable / Enable USB-C Charging: Press Power Button 3×

MEEcast

MEEcast is a wireless broadcasting feature that does not require a smartphone, designed exclusively for use with MEE audio MEEcast-enabled transmitters. It is not compatible with standard Bluetooth or Bluetooth Auracast devices.

To use MEEcast, switch your Cinema 3D into MEEcast mode, then cycle through the available MEEcast channels until you hear the audio from your MEEcast transmitter.

  • Switch between MEEcast Mode and Regular Bluetooth / Auracast Mode: Press and hold Power and ANC Buttons for 3 seconds.
  • Next MEEcast Channel: Swipe forward on Touch Panel, OR press and hold VOL+ Button for 1 second.
  • Previous MEEcast Channel: Swipe backward on Touch Panel, OR press and hold VOL− Button for 1 second.

Troubleshooting

Most issues can be solved by resetting the Connect transmitter and Cinema 3D headphones and re-connecting them.

Factory Reset

Connect Transmitter

To reset the Connect transmitter, first power it on, then press and hold the "A" button on the side of the transmitter for approximately 7 seconds, or until the blue light stops blinking.

  1. Slide the power switch to the "ON" position.
  2. Press and hold the "A" button until the blue light stops blinking.

Cinema 3D Headphones

To reset the Cinema 3D headphones, first power them on, then press and hold the Power AND CinemaEAR Buttons for 3 seconds.

Note: Resetting will restore all settings to their original factory defaults and erase all previous Bluetooth pairings. You'll need to delete the Cinema 3D from your Bluetooth device list and create a new pairing before using the headphones again.

Disabling the Touch Control Panel

The touch panel controls on the Cinema 3D can be disabled for users who prefer to only use the tactile buttons.

Disable / Enable Touch Panel Controls: Press and hold ANC Button for 5 seconds.

Note: With the touch panel disabled, the control to manually recenter 3D Sound (Spatial Audio) will be unavailable. 3D Sound will still recenter automatically after a few seconds.
